Â
We live in a fast paced world that can overwhelm parents and leave the entire family gasping for breath. Often it seems impossible to juggle everything that life throws our way. Back in the “Good Old” days, the preferred Indian family type was a joint family where each family member supported each other. Today, the modified extended family which includes close friends has replaced the traditional Indian joint family. For those of us living outside India we often lack the security and support one would usually receive from family and friends back home. ICanBond.com wants to be a part of this extended family.
Create a global online neighborhood for dynamic families with kids by being the one stop location for valuable information, smart tools and trusted resources
ICanBond.com will provide the extended Indian families of today with a One-Stop location of valuable news, information and resources that will make their lives easier thereby allowing them to focus on their priorities.
First, is our vision to be the single source of quality information and trusted resources making an impact on the everyday lives of the extended Indian families, helping them bond with the local community. Second, the people responsible for online content are parents themselves, passionate about providing busy parents with easy access to practical advice, helpful tips, and a comprehensive set of tools and resources. A searchable online tool is already available for parents looking for specific activities. Currently, we only cover information pertaining to the Greater Seattle area. In a future version, we will expand this coverage to other cities. We will also form relationships with various businesses, organizations and individuals that care deeply about children and families. Some of the tools we will add will include projects to help children develop leadership and networking skills. Â People behind ICanBond This web portal that would serve as a guide for the dynamic Indian community, mainly focused on children and their parents has been designed and developed by Anu Vadari.
Anu Vadari has over 9 years of experience working with children and children's organizations. Anu started out as a volunteer in Redmond Balvihaar and later moved on to be one of the founders of HTCC's Balshastra. Anu has written, directed and choreographed several short plays in which children of different ages have participated. Anu also helps in coordinating several events for the Indian community in the greater area. She liaises with other Seattle-based organizations, teachers and leaders in the community making the coordinating process successful. Anu is a key member of HTCC's Web Design team focusing on creating and delivering the right message to the Seattle Hindu community.
